CM Yogi says ‘compromise on women’s safety is unacceptable’ – responsibilities from constable to deputy superintendent of police to be determined

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting of officials during which he gave guidelines on development work, law and order and ensuring arrangements for the upcoming festivals. CM Yogi said that in recent years, all festivals in the state have been celebrated in an atmosphere of peace and harmony, which is the result of better law and order, constant dialogue and cooperation among all sections of society. This better teamwork and public cooperation should continue.

CM Yogi said that apart from Baravafat on September 16, Ganesh Utsav will be celebrated till Anant Chaturdashi. After that, Pitru Paksha will begin and from October 3, Shardiya Navratri, Vijayadashami celebrations will be held. From the law and order point of view, this time is a sensitive period. The police administration has to be vigilant 24×7.

To ensure that every festival is peaceful and harmonious, all necessary efforts should be made according to local needs. A strict zero-tolerance policy should be implemented for malicious remarks. Those who disrupt the atmosphere should be dealt with seriously. Pranksters may try to unnecessarily provoke people from other communities, so please pay close attention to such incidents. Keep in mind past experiences and make safety arrangements.

CM Yogi said that safety of mothers, sisters and daughters is our priority. This cannot be compromised in any way. Immediate action should be taken on the smallest information about “love jihad”, “chain snatching”, “Eve teasing”. Keep the women police beat police active. Keep patrolling. The responsibility for such incidents should be from the patrol officer to the sub-police officer.

CM Yogi instructed officials in the meeting

Chief Minister Yogi said that every district is being reviewed on a daily basis at the government level. Every incident and activity of every police officer in every district is being monitored. Divisional and range level officers should make similar efforts in the areas under their charge. The Director General of Police should report his duties to the DGP on a daily basis.

He said that the Government of India has made performance a criterion for allocating budget for the plans. The better a state does, the more support it will get from the Government of India. In this context, all Additional Chief Secretaries/Chief Secretaries should increase the participation of the states in the central schemes by communicating with the departmental secretaries of the relevant ministries of the Government of India.
