Victim’s family should get justice within 15 days: Mamata

He wrote in the letter, ‘It is horrifying to see this trend of criminals. It shakes the confidence and conscience of the society and the nation, it is our duty to end it so that women feel safe. Such a serious and sensitive issue needs to be addressed comprehensively through stringent central law which provides such punishment for those involved in these brutal crimes that it becomes an example for others.’

Mamata Banerjee also proposed the establishment of fast-track special courts for speedy trial in these cases. She suggested, ‘The trial should be completed within a maximum of 15 days to ensure speedy justice.’
