New Delhi: CJI DY Chandrachud once again issued a statement on Prime Minister Modi’s visit to his official residence in Ganpati Puja. The CJI said that there was nothing wrong with his arrival and that the political circles needed to have a sense of maturity on such issues. In fact, during Ganpati Puja, Prime Minister Modi went to the official residence of CJI Chandrachud and photos were also exposed. There have been many objections raised by the opposition since then. The BJP, however, calls it part of the country’s culture. At present, the CJI has issued a statement in this regard.
“Basic issues discussed”
CJI Chandrachud said at an event that the dialogue between the judiciary and the executive takes place under a strong inter-agency mechanism and this should be respected. The separation of powers between the two does not mean that they will not meet. He further said, “The concept of separation of powers does not mean that the judiciary and the executive are separate from each other as they do not meet or communicate reasonably. In states, the Chief Justice and the Panchayat High Court have a law in which the Chief Minister and the Chief Justice Most meetings will discuss basic issues such as budget, infrastructure, and technology.”
“There’s nothing wrong with that”
On PM Modi’s visit to his official residence, the CJI said: “The Prime Minister came to my house to attend Ganpati Puja. There is nothing wrong with it as there are regular meetings between individuals related to the judiciary and the executive at the social level. We are on Republic Day etc. We meet at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. During this time, we do not discuss things that have to be decided, but things related to life and society.”
“Decisions can be discussed openly”
Apart from this, CJI Chandrachud said on his retirement on November 10, “The political system should have a sense of maturity to understand this and trust its judges because the work we do is evaluated by our written words. Whatever No decisions we make are confidential and can be discussed openly.”
“It has nothing to do with judicial aspects”
CJI Chandrachud further said that the talks between the executive and judiciary at the executive level have nothing to do with the judicial aspect. He said: “There is a provision in the separation of powers that the judiciary should not play the role of the executive in deciding policy because the power to decide policy belongs to the government. Likewise, the executive does not decide on court cases. “There should be a dialogue because you The future and lives of those in the judiciary are being decided. The CJI said the dialogue between the judiciary and the executive has nothing to do with the decision in the court case.
The CJI also talked about the Ram Mandir issue
Apart from this, his statement of praying to God to resolve the ongoing controversy at the Rama temple in Ayodhya also created a lot of controversy. In response, he described himself as a devout man who respects all religions. “This is an issue of social media, you should also tell the background behind which I am saying this,” the CJI said. Let us tell you that he had said that he had prayed to Allah to resolve Ramjan Mahbhumi-Ba Buri mosque dispute. (input – institution)
