A Chinese teenager lost his hand and after using a science at home, almost one eye became blind in one eye. The teenager is currently a second year student of secondary school and has not yet started a study of chemistry, as the Chinese course introduces the subject in the third year.
According to Shri Huang, despite not knowing anything about chemistry, his son had a deep curiosity for the subject and was often dubbed in such experiments.
“He had first experimented at home. We never expected that it would cause an accident.”
It is not clear which specific experiments he was doing resulting in an explosion of such intensity. The local residential committee said that they had initiated an investigation to find out whether the explosion affected the structural integrity of the building.
The committee has also launched a donation campaign within the community to support the boy’s medical treatment.
