Heavy business is expected in the market this year on Rakshabandhan, the festival symbolizing the love between brother and sister. According to the trade organization CAT, considering the way the demand for Rakhis has increased in recent times, this year a business of Rs 12 thousand crore is expected on Rakshabandhan, whereas last year there was a business of about Rs 10 thousand crore on Rakhi. .

Earlier, business worth Rs 7 thousand crore in 2022, Rs 6 thousand crore in 2021, Rs 5 thousand crore in 2020, Rs 3500 crore in 2019 and Rs 3 thousand crore in 2018 was done on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.

Chinese Rakhis missing from the market
According to traders, a huge crowd of Rakhi purchases is being seen in the markets and people are also enthusiastic about the festival. Like last many years, this time also only indigenous Rakhis are being sold. Rakhis made in China are completely missing from the market. As always, there is a lot of traditional Rakhis in the market, prominent among which are Khadi Rakhi made in Nagpur, Sanganeri Kala Rakhi of Jaipur, Beej Rakhi of Pune, Woolen Rakhi of Satna, Bamboo Rakhi made of tribal items, Tea leaf Rakhi of Assam, Jute Rakhi of Kolkata, Silk Rakhi of Mumbai, Date Rakhi of Kerala, Pearl Rakhi of Kanpur, Madhubani and Maithili Art Rakhi of Bihar, Soft Stone Rakhi of Pondicherry and Flower Rakhi of Bangalore.

Apart from this, Tricolor Rakhi, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Rakhi, Bharat Mata Rakhi are also present in the market. Designer Rakhis and silver Rakhis are also being sold in the market.

Estimated sales of Rs 4 lakh crore during festivals
According to CAT, the festive season will start from Rakshabandhan on 19th August till the day of Tulsi Vivah on 15th November. During this period, through the sale of goods, it is expected that more than Rs 4 lakh crore worth of festival related goods will be sold in the country’s markets. In these, mainly Indian goods will be sold. However, the maximum sales during this period will be between Navratri and Diwali. During this period, in about 30 days, the largest part of the total sales in the country in a year comes out of the market.

Online sales record!
Albinder, founder of quick commerce company Blinkit, says that this year there have been record sales through his platform. On Sunday night, he gave information by posting a post on social media platform X. In which he wrote that this year the sales on Rakhi became a new record. He wrote in his post that there has been an increase in the sale of Rakhis per minute due to which there was a record sale of Rakhis in a single day. Apart from Rakhis, chocolates and other gifts were also sold in abundance.
