The whole world knows that India’s biggest enemy countries are Pakistan and China. India is constantly expanding its defense industry and production. India also has a lot of good weapons. But seeing the fight between Ukraine-Russia, Israel-Palestine-Hezbollah-Iran, it seems that long-range multiple rocket launch systems (MLRS) are very necessary.

All the MLRS that India has, at present, are less than that of China. If Pakistan is added to this, then India seems to be far behind in this matter. If we talk about India’s long-range rocket systems, then we have only Smerch and Pinaka. The range of Smerch is 90 kilometers. Pinaka’s range is 45 to 90 kilometers.

There is a need for MLRS with a range of 300 km. Pinaka MK-3 ER will have this range but it is still under development. Only MK-3 with a range of 120 km is still under development. Some variants are being tested – like Pinaka ERR 122, MK-2 ER.

Who has how many MLRS…

The Indian Army has 162 MLRS. That means a total of 8 regiments. Their maximum range will be 75 kilometers. MLRS with a range of 100 to 300 kilometers are currently in the testing phase or under development condition. While four regiments i.e. 80 MLRS are under development. At the same time, the Chinese Army has 144 MLRS with a range of 300 kilometers in the Western Command. Pakistan has more than 80 MLRS.

What will be the problem and how?

If China and Pakistan attack together, or even separately, it will be difficult to defeat them with multiple rocket launcher systems because India does not have the range. There are short-range rocket launcher systems. This ties up the army. It is difficult to attack openly and safely. You cannot attack the enemy from a distance.

Who has how many MLRS in total

According to Global Fire Power, China has a total of 3180 MLRS of every range. Out of which 2544 are deployed on active duty. Whereas Pakistan has 602, out of which 421 are active. India has a total of 702 MLRS, out of which 527 are currently deployed to protect the borders.
