‘Its steel truss weighs around 22,000 metric tons – equal to three Eiffel towers – and were installed in only two months.’
Chief Engineer Lee Zhao said, “Witness to my work becomes somewhat tangible – watching the bridge growing day by day and finally standing above the valley – gives me a deep meaning of achievement and pride.”
In addition to providing important transport links in a more rural area of China, the new bridge will also be a major tourist attraction.
As Metro, Plans for living areas, a glass walkway and ‘highest bungee jump’ in the world have also been unveiled by planners.
The bridge is more impressive because it is almost completely completely suspended above the major gorge below.
The region of China where this bridge is being built is about half of the world’s 100 highest bridges to help connect rural communities.
In 2016, China’s highest bridge was built in Beepanjiang, which measured a surprisingly 1,854 feet long.
