Senior Congress leader and former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram has posted a social media post about inflation, which is becoming increasingly viral. In this, he has talked about inflation and explained it by linking it to the tea available at the airport. Chidambaram has said that inflation is higher in West Bengal than in Tamil Nadu. Let us know why he said so?

A tea at the airport costs 340 rupees!
Former Finance Minister of the country P Chidambaram has posted an article expressing surprise at the prices of tea available at the airport and has told how inflation is higher in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, than in Tamil Nadu. He wrote in his post that, ‘He was charged Rs 340 for a simple tea with hot water and tea bag at Kolkata Airport.’ He told that he had taken this tea from a restaurant named ‘The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf’ located at the airport.

Remembering the old days, Chidambaram said…
Seeing the price of tea at Kolkata airport, Chidambaram recalled his old experience of tea at Chennai airport in Tamil Nadu and further wrote that a few years ago, 80 rupees were charged for such tea at Chennai airport. Obviously, inflation in West Bengal is much higher than in Tamil Nadu. It is worth noting that P Chidambaram is a senior Congress leader and currently represents Tamil Nadu in the Rajya Sabha.

According to the report published in Business Today, the Congress leader further said that when the issue was raised publicly and tweeted about the tea priced at Rs 80 at Chennai airport, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) took cognizance of the matter and took corrective action.

This is not the first time that questions have been raised about abnormal prices at airports, such cases keep coming up often. Now this issue has come up again.
