The Union Transport Ministry has revised the fee and collection rates of National Highway. The government has issued a notification in this regard. Under the new rules, now if the driver, owner or in-charge of any mechanical vehicle other than a vehicle with a national permit uses the same section of a national highway, permanent bridge, bypass or tunnel, then zero user fee will be charged. However, this will be applicable only for a journey of 20 kilometers.

According to the notification, the fee collection and the distance of travel will be measured under the Global Navigation Satellite System. If the day’s journey is more than 20 km, then the actual charge will be levied accordingly.
