Chandigarh: Second accused in grenade attack case on former SP’s house arrested from Delhi

Police have also arrested the second accused Vishal in the case of the suspicious grenade blast at the house of a retired police officer in Chandigarh. Punjab Police arrested Vishal from Delhi with the help of central agencies. Vishal was seen in the CCTV footage during the grenade attack, after which he was under police surveillance. Earlier, one accused has already been arrested.

Former SP of Punjab was the target

This incident took place in Sector 10 area of ​​Chandigarh at around 5.30 pm on Wednesday evening, due to which the windows and flower pots of the house were damaged. According to the information, the retired SP of Punjab was the target of this attack, who has investigated many terrorist cases. Investigative agencies suspect that this attack is a conspiracy of Khalistani terrorists sitting in America and Pakistan. In the year 2023 also, a plan was made to attack the former SP and this bungalow was recced but the plan failed.

Reiki was done two days before the attack
Sources told India Today TV that three people had arrived at the scene in an autorickshaw shortly before the blast. The blast was so powerful that it could be heard from a distance. According to sources, the attackers had kept watch on the house just two days before the grenade attack.

The incident of the explosion has been captured in CCTV cameras. In the footage, an autorickshaw is seen speeding away and turning sharply to dodge a car coming from the opposite direction.

Suspicion on terrorist Rinda sitting in Pakistan
According to sources, it is suspected that Rinda, who is in Pakistan, and Happy Pachiya, who is in the USA, carried out the hand grenade attack on the bungalow in Chandigarh through their local sleeper cell. According to sources, the shooters and their handlers were not aware that the former SP had left the bungalow after the revelation of the conspiracy to kill him in 2023. The attackers were assuming that the former SP still lives in the bungalow, so the attack was carried out.
