In an effort to create a culture of responsibility among voters, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jammu and Kashmir has launched a ‘Voter Promise’ campaign ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections with an aim to increase voter turnout across the federation.

The campaign has been launched under the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) flagship programme SVEEP (Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation) to promote voter education and participation in the elections starting on September 18, 2024 in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Voter Pledge campaign aims to motivate all citizens of UT Jammu and Kashmir to support the initiative and pledge their unwavering support for active participation in the upcoming assembly elections.

Voters who wish to create a Voter Pledge Certificate can click on the SVEEPjk.in link and follow some simple steps to download the ‘Pledge Certificate’ duly signed by CEO Pandurang K Pole which includes the name of the voter, the name of his constituency and the certificate number.

The particular voter has to enter his/her name and select the constituency to which they belong and then in the last step, they have to verify themselves and submit the details.
After this, a new web link will appear containing the voter certificate, from which the voter can download it.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO urged voters of Jammu and Kashmir to visit SVEEPjk.in, take the Voter Oath and download their ‘Pledge’.

The ceremony was attended by SVEEP J&K Liaison Officer Akther Hussain Qazi, Media J&K Liaison Officer Sapna Kotwal, Principal Dr SP Sarawat, Hemant Vaid OSD Media and SVEEP, NIC Scientist Siddheshwar Bhagat and officials of Jammu Smart City.
