Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan released the Joint Doctrine for Amphibious Operations during the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) meeting at an important event held in New Delhi on 9 September 2024. This doctrine is a major publication that will provide guidance to commanders for conducting amphibious operations in today’s complex military environment.
The amphibious capability gives the armed forces the strength to conduct a wide range of military operations in the Indian Ocean region during both war and peace. These military operations are an important component of multi-domain military operations and are one of the best examples of synergy and integration among the armed forces.
