Kolkata: The Center for Democracy, Pluralism and Human Rights, or CDPHR, has submitted a horrific report on violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. The report titled “Minorities under siege in Bangladesh” was presented to the public by CDPHR Chairman Dr Prerna Malhotra and Professor Kapil Kumar. The report said that minority Hindus suffered serious atrocities under the protection of the Bangladesh government. Whatever happens to Hindus in Bangladesh affects the entire world. The report also said that world powers have a responsibility to put pressure on the interim government of Bangladesh to stop atrocities against Hindus.
‘There’s a lot wrong with Hindus’
Talking about issues related to the report, Dr Prerna Malhotra said: “This is our third report on Bangladesh. “Bangladesh is burning. Hindus have many problems. The most surprising thing is that the world is silent about it. Minority groups are suppressed and violence against them continues. According to our data, 190 subversion cases were registered within 4 days of Sheikh Hasina’s removal from office. In addition to this, 16 temples were destroyed. As of August 20, more than 2,000 Hindus have experienced violence and 69 Hindu temples have been demolished. To this day, this violence continues.
‘Yunus government failed to save Hindus’
Referring to jihadist attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, Malhotra said: “When the interim government of Muhammad Yunus was formed on August 8, we thought these things would calm down, but they didn’t. Happened. The government’s job is to protect the people, but it has not taken any measures to protect minorities. Incidents such as Pakistan and Afghanistan also happened in Bangladesh. The jihadis are not even sparing women and children and 477 cases of violence have been registered against them and genocide is taking place openly.
