CBI takes action in NEET paper leak case, names of these 6 accused in second chargesheet

NEET exam paper leak case: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a second chargesheet against six accused in the NEET UG 2024 paper leak case filed before the special court for CBI cases in Patna. The chargesheet has been filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 109 (abetment), 409 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 380 (theft), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property).

Besides, the principal of Oasis School was appointed as the city coordinator and the vice principal was appointed as the centre head by NTA for conducting the substantive examination of NEET UG-2024 under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The charges were made under Section 13(1)(a) and Section 13(2) of the Indian Penal Code, 1988 (as amended in 2018).

A case has been registered against the six accused.

The six accused targeted in the second charge sheet in the NEET paper leak case include (1) Baldev Kumar alias Chintu (2) Sunny Kumar (3) Dr. Ahsanul Haq (Principal and City Coordinator of Oasis School, Hazaribagh) (4) Mohammad Imtiaz Alam (Vice Principal and Centre Head of Oasis School) (5) Jamaluddin alias Jamal (Hazaribagh newspaper journalist) and (6) Aman Kumar Singh.

CBI has filed charges against the first 13 persons

The CBI had earlier filed the first chargesheet against the 13 accused on August 1, 2024. Investigations so far have revealed that Dr. Ahsanul Haq, principal of Oasis School, had been appointed as the coordinator of NEET UG Examination 2024 in Hazaribagh, and Mohammad Imtiaz Alam, the school’s vice-principal and centre director of NEET UG Examination 2024, and others conspired with the accused to steal the NEET UG examination papers.

48 people have been arrested so far

As of now, 48 persons have been arrested in this NEET paper leak case. The CBI has also identified the candidates who were the beneficiaries of this paper leak and sent their details to the National Testing Agency for necessary action. Further investigations on the remaining arrested accused and other aspects are underway.
