CAT 2024 Registration Begins: Registrations for CAT exam have started for studying management courses in renowned institutes. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has opened the application window for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 on its official website today, August 1. Interested candidates can register themselves before September 13 at iimcat.ac.in. For registration, candidates will have to deposit Rs 2,500. However, exemption in registration fees has been given for ST, SC and disabled category candidates.
To fill CAT 2024 form, first login-
step 1- Go to the official website iimcat.ac.in.
Step 2- Click on “Registration of New Candidates” option on the homepage
Step 3- Candidate’s name, email, date of birth will have to be entered.
Step 4- You will get an OTP on the mail, enter it.
Step 5- The candidate will receive his/her log-in ID on email.
Step 6- Save your log-in ID.
The mail ID and phone number you are entering during registration should be kept active during the entire process. The institute will contact you on this number. After logging in, you will have to fill the CAT 2025 form. Follow the steps given below to fill the form.
Method to fill CAT 2024 form-
step 1- First of all, log in with the ID and password received on the mail.
Step 2- After this, a window will open in front of you in which you will have to fill all the required information.
Step 3- Fill the form with candidate’s name, guardian’s name (mother, father and spouse), category, address, emergency contact and disability (if applicable).
Step 4- After this upload the required documents like – Passport size photograph (1200*1200), Signature (80 mm*35 mm) and required category certificate if applicable.
Step 5- Now save and proceed to the next step. In this, candidates will have to upload their marksheet.
Step 6- After this select the city. In this you can also choose the examination centre.
Step 7- After this the fee will have to be paid. You should save the form and keep it.
Fees have been increased this year
This year the fees for CAT exam form has been increased. Earlier the application fee for general category students was Rs 2400. Now it has been increased to Rs 2500. The fee for reserve category students has been increased from Rs 1200 to Rs 1250.
Exam will be held in three shifts
This year, centers for CAT entrance examination will be made in 170 cities. Earlier, students were allowed to choose up to six cities to take the exam. From this year they will be able to choose only five cities. CAT 2024 exam will be held in three shifts. The first shift exam will be taken from 8.30 am to 10.30 am, the second shift exam will be taken from 12.30 pm and the third shift exam will be taken from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm.
There will be so many questions in total
There will be a total of 66 questions in CAT exam. The exam will be for a total of 198 marks. Questions will be asked from Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Verbal and Reading Comprehension and Quantitative Aptitude. The examination will be taken under negative marking. For every correct answer, the student will get three marks, while for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.
