Cash Awards for Paralympics Medallists: The Paralympics held in Paris concluded on 8 August. This time India has created history by winning a total of 29 medals including 7 gold medals. They have now received the reward for this from the Sports Ministry. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has announced a bumper amount of money as reward for the athletes who win medals in the Paralympics.
A ceremony was organized to honor all the Paralympic medalists, during which the Sports Minister announced this reward. He has told that the athlete who wins gold in the Paralympics will be given Rs 75 lakh as a reward.
While the silver medalist will be given Rs 50 lakh and the bronze winner will be given Rs 30 lakh. Archer Sheetal Devi, who performed well in the mixed team event, will be given an extra amount of Rs 22.5 lakh.
