Canadians visit BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto to mark PM Ram Navami

Toronto:

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited the Father Sri Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto, Canada and joined the Hindu community in marking the festival of Ram Navami.

Ram Navami concluded nine days of nine days, respecting Goddess Durga and her nine divine forms. On the last day of Navratri, one of the most prestigious gods of Hindus, marking the birth of Lord Rama.

Carney’s visit to the temple comes beyond the federal elections scheduled for April 28.

Cabinet Minister Anita Anand welcomed the journey in a post on X.

“There are important challenges for the Hindu community over the years, which are more than one million. Known to follow the rules and laws, Hindus basically assimilate in cultures they move forward. Despite being one of the highest -earning and promoting successful life, they maintain a low profile and often avoid being involved in political decisions.

The organization said in another post, “Recently bouncing in anti-Hindu spirit, fuel by individual groups, every Hindu Canadian has been deeply influenced. Addressing these pressures will be a significant focus for the upcoming government, addressing issues.”

A major Hindu temple run by BAPS Toronto, BAPS Swaminarayan Sanskar, in 2022, was replaced by “Canadian Khalistani extremists” with anti-India frescoes in a clear hatred crime here.
