Indian Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal
Tensions are rising between India and Canada over the Nijjar massacre. Canada once again accused India of orchestrating the massacre. A Canadian newspaper wrote in a report that India’s top leadership was aware of the plot to murder Hardeep Singh Nijar. Canadian security agencies have informed India of the massacre.
At the same time, India has now also denied the report in the Canadian newspaper. The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the report by the Canadian media was intended to defame India. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said we reject such remarks. This is a somewhat ridiculous statement. These comments further damage our strained relationship.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead in Surrey, Canada on June 18 last year. India has denied all allegations leveled by Canada on the matter.
