Gold and silver became cheaper
Nirmala Sitharaman announced during her budget speech that the custom duty on gold and silver has been reduced to 6%. The current duty on gold and silver is 15%, which includes 10% basic custom duty and 5% agriculture infrastructure development cess. After the announcement of the Finance Minister, now basic custom duty will be 5 percent, while cess will be 1 percent. After this announcement, domestic prices may also fall and gold demand may increase. On the other hand, after the government’s announcement, a decline of about Rs 4,000 was recorded in the prices of gold and silver on MCX.

Three cancer medicines are cheap
Giving relief to cancer patients, the government has abolished custom duty on three major medicines used in the treatment. During his speech, the Finance Minister said that I propose to give complete exemption from customs duty to three more cancer medicines. These medicines include trastuzumab deruxtecan, osimertinib and darvalumab. Till now custom duty was being imposed on these medicines at the rate of 10 percent.

Mobile phones will now be available cheap
While presenting the budget, the Finance Minister said that in the last 6 years, there has been a three-fold increase in the domestic production of mobile phones. With this, an increase of almost 100 times has been recorded in the export of mobile phones. It is clear from this that India’s mobile phone industry is flourishing. In such a situation, in the interest of consumers, the government has decided to reduce the BCD on mobile phones, mobile PCBA and mobile chargers to 15 percent. Let us tell you that after this decision of the government, now mobile phones and its other devices will become cheaper.
