According to the news agency, a woman and her son died due to electric shock in Dataganj area of Badaun. The accident happened when a high tension electric wire fell on the iron fence surrounding his house. First the woman got electrocuted, then the son who went to save her also got electrocuted.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dharmendra Kumar Singh said that Rajendra Devi (58) had accidentally touched the fence late on Tuesday night. When her son Umesh (37) came out to save her, he too got electrocuted along with his mother. Due to which both of them died. The deceased was a resident of ward number three of Usava town, an agricultural area.
The SDM said that Devi’s husband Asharam, a farmer, had fenced the house with iron wire to prevent animals from coming inside. Late on Tuesday night, a high power electric wire passing nearby suddenly fell on the fence of the house, after which this incident happened. The electricity department will give compensation to the families of the victims.
At the same time, the brother of the deceased told that my mother had woken up at night. Then suddenly a wire got stuck in his leg. When she fell, my brother Umesh tried to lift her but he also got electrocuted. Made several calls to the electricity staff to shut down the electricity. But not a single employee picked up the phone.
