October 17, 2024: South Korean pop star J-Hope, a member of the world-famous group BTS, was discharged from the military on Thursday after completing 18 months of military service.

He announced his return via Instagram Stories, sparking excitement among fans and industry insiders who were hopeful the band would reunite.

J-Hope, 30, is the second BTS member to complete his military service after the eldest member Jin completed his military service in June. A viral video shared by fan page BTS Charts Daily captured J-Hope in military uniform and a black beret, marking his return to civilian life.

J-Hope received a warm welcome from Jin, about 100 enthusiastic fans and a large group of reporters at the military base in Wonju City, Gangwon Province. Meanwhile, the remaining four BTS members began their military service in December 2023, with plans to reform in 2025 after all members have fulfilled their obligations.

Since their debut in 2013, BTS has achieved extraordinary success, selling more than 56 million physical albums and singles, while six albums have topped the Billboard 200 chart. Fans eagerly await what’s next for the band as they reunite and continue their musical journey.
