BSNL has once again heightened tensions between Jio, Airtel and Voda. The government telecommunications company has added more than 6.5 million new users to its network in the past two months. The Ministry of Telecommunications has provided this information. Talking about BSNL’s network expansion and revival, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the company has made a good start by adding 6.5 million new subscribers in the past few months. The government is working hard to provide users with better internet connectivity.
Company focuses on growing users
In July, hundreds of thousands of users of private telecom companies Airtel, Jio and Vi migrated their numbers to BSNL after their mobile plans became expensive. Government telecom companies appear to be benefiting from this. Meanwhile, the company’s chairman has made it clear that BSNL will not make its mobile plans expensive in the near future. The entire focus of the company is to provide better connectivity to the users and add more and more users.
BSNL recently installed 51,000 new 4G mobile towers, of which more than 41,000 towers have been commissioned. The company will install 100,000 new 4G mobile towers by June next year, after which it will launch commercial 4G services simultaneously across the country. Not only that, government telecommunications companies are also testing 5G networks. BSNL 5G services will also be launched a few months after the launch of 4G.
Launch of satellite-to-device service
BSNL has become the first telecom company in the country to launch satellite-to-device services. This satellite communications-based service was demonstrated at the recent Mobile World Congress 2024. In satellite-to-device services, users can make calls even without any SIM card and mobile network. The company launched the service specifically to establish communication in emergency situations.
