On the third day of the winter session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the opposition tried to corner the government on many issues with its unique demonstrations. Members of Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party protested in their own way, raising questions about corruption and public issues against the state government. While some MPs raised questions about the liquor racket among protesters, others raised questions from the public in front of the House through silent dharma and distribution of tea.
Congress MP Mahesh Parmar has leveled serious allegations against the state government over the liquor scam. He said the liquor scam taking place in Madhya Pradesh was bigger than Delhi but the government was silent on the matter. Parma claimed to have carried out a scam worth Rs 100 crore through fake challans in Indore district in 2015-16.
He claimed that the scam has reached Rs 10,000-20,000 crore in the past 15-20 years. Parmar also talked about producing evidence of Rs 22 crore being deposited in the accounts of the guilty officials and liquor contractors. He asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the matter and take action.
Silent protest by tribal MLAs
Sailana MLA and Bharatiya Janata Party lone member Kamleshwar Dodiya staged a silent protest in front of the Gandhi statue at the rally venue. Dodia was outraged by a doctor’s indecent behavior, which he called an insult to the entire tribal society. Dodia expressed his views in writing, expressing his deep dissatisfaction with the lack of action by doctors. Congressional leaders and MLAs also expressed support. Congress said strict action should be taken immediately against those who misbehave with public representatives.
Opposition leader borrows tea to protest
Opposition leader Umang Singh raised the issue of unemployment in a unique way. He distributed tea in teapots outside the House and accused the state government of making false promises. Singh said that no concrete employment arrangements have been made for the youth of the state. The government is limited to announcements, but the actual situation is another matter.
