Germany’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer BMW Motorrad has today launched its premium electric scooter BMW CE 04 in the Indian market. In terms of look and design, this electric is completely different from any model available in the market till now. Equipped with attractive looks and powerful battery pack, the price of this electric scooter has been fixed at Rs 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
How is the country’s most expensive electric scooter:
Obviously, this is the most expensive electric scooter in the country and at this price you can buy an electric car like Nexon EV. The starting price of Nexon electric SUV is Rs 14.49 lakh. However, the company has given a large battery pack of 8.5kWh capacity in this scooter, which gives a driving range of up to 130 km in a single charge. It has a liquid-cooled permanent magnet electric motor which generates 42hp power and 62Nm torque. The company claims that this scooter is capable of accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. Its top speed is 120 km/hr.
Charging Options:
The option of two chargers is being given with this scooter. One is of 2.3kW which is being given as standard and the other is an optional charger of 6.9kW. BMW claims that it takes approximately 4 hours 20 minutes to charge this electric scooter with a standard charger. With the big 6.9kW charger, the battery of this scooter can be charged in just 1 hour 40 minutes.

The BMW CE 04 comes with features like all-LED lighting, Bluetooth-compatible 10.25-inch TFT display, keyless ignition, 3 riding modes (Eco, Rain, Road), anti-lock braking system (ABS), switchable traction control, main stand and reverse mode. Features are given as standard. It also has a C-Type USB port to charge your smartphone. It has a ventilated storage compartment and also has a side-mounted storage compartment with a dedicated light.
Based on a steel double loop frame, this electric scooter has a telescopic fork at the front and an offset monoshock suspension at the rear. Talking about braking, it has a twin 265 mm disc brake at the front and a 265 mm disc brake with a single piston axial calliper at the rear. This scooter has a 15 inch wheel. The company says that the height of this seat is 780 mm which is better even for short height people. Its total weight is 231 kg. This scooter has been introduced in blue and white color.
