Black drug trade: Ganja worth Rs 2 crore seized in Jharkhand, Heroin worth Rs 1.5 crore seized from Assam

Police of many states of the country are running a campaign against illegal drug dealers. In such a situation, the police has seized a huge consignment of ganja in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. One person has been arrested in this case. On the other hand, in Morigaon district of Assam, police have arrested two people and recovered heroin worth more than Rs 1.5 crore from their possession.

This is how ganja worth two crores was caught
490 kg of ganja worth about Rs 2 crore has been seized from a truck in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. The police have arrested the driver of the truck. Giving information about this, District Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Kumar told PTI that the suspicious truck with Uttar Pradesh registration number was going from Ranchi to Hazaribagh late on Tuesday night.

According to the SP, during that time the truck was stopped for investigation near Kuju police post. He said that after searching the truck, the police recovered a huge quantity of drugs and arrested the truck driver Tulsi Yadav (55). SP said that further investigation is going on in this matter. The accused truck driver is being interrogated.

Heroin worth Rs 1.57 crore seized
Two people were arrested on Wednesday in Morigaon district of Assam, from whom heroin worth more than Rs 1.57 crore was seized. A district police officer said that based on a tip-off, a police team conducted a search operation in Barchal village and seized 875 grams of intoxicants from a house.

Police said the heroin was hidden in 77 soap boxes and was brought to the district from Dimapur in Nagaland. Police have arrested both the accused and registered a case against them.
