Attacking Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu has said that if a “bomb maker” supports him, then he is a “number one terrorist”. Minister of State for Railways Bittu made the comments in Bhagalpur, Bihar. The Congress hit back at his remarks.
Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that the minimum qualification to become a minister in the Modi government, especially for spineless Congress traitors, is to make low-grade personal attacks on Rahul Gandhi. Not only that, it also shows how much hatred and contempt these BJP leaders have in their hearts and how little respect they have for the opposition.
KC Venugopal said democracy can only work if there is basic respect between political parties and political opponents are not seen as personal enemies but ideological rivals, which is what Ravneet Bittu said, but these are the words of the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said it was a stupid comment. Bittu had earlier supported Rahul Gandhi and now he is showing such low level of flattery by making such a statement. There should not be any reaction to this.
Senior Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan said that people know the contribution of the Gandhi family to the country. Everything Bittu said is totally unacceptable. Bittu himself served in Congress. His father was also a Congress member. His remarks against Rahul Gandhi are highly condemned.
What did Ravneet Bittu say?
According to a report in Press Trust of India, Bittu had said that Rahul Gandhi spends most of his time abroad. His friends and family live there. I don’t think he loves his country much because he talks negatively about India after he goes abroad. I don’t think he is an Indian. He said that now he has the support of separatists who always talk about dividing the country. They (separatists) and the most wanted criminals also appreciate Rahul Gandhi’s remarks against Sikhs. When someone who is also an expert in bomb making supports Rahul Gandhi, then he is the number one terrorist in the country. His remarks are like those of separatists. There should be a reward for their capture. Bittu claimed that the Congress first tried to “use” Muslims but could not do it, so now it is trying to divide Sikhs. He said Rahul Gandhi talks about OBCs and other castes. Despite being the leader of the opposition, he cannot understand the pain of a shoemaker, a carpenter or a mechanic. It is a joke.
