In Bihar, the Nitish Kumar led government has announced to build 21 madrassas on Waqf Board land. While announcing the construction of Madrasas on Waqf Board land, Bihar Government Minister Jama Khan also said that this decision is part of the Bihar State Madrasa Education Scheme. The objective of this scheme is to improve the Madrasa education system and infrastructure. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is part of Nitish government, has also come in support of this Madrasa policy.

Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has said that this is the policy of the government. The policy of the Modiji led government is that the benefits of Waqf property should reach women and children. He said that this did not happen till now and whatever decisions Nitish Kumar would have taken would be around this policy of Modi government. Nityanand Rai also mentioned the Waqf Bill and said that right now it has been sent to JPC for consideration and suggestions. The policy of Modi government is clear.

BJP MLA said- close madrasas

BJP MLA Usha Thakur demanded closure of madrasas, saying that terrorism is taught there. Fundamentalism is taught in madrassas. He said that such centers should be closed. The BJP MLA said that at this time children need logical and modern education but they are being taught in madrassas.

Senior JDU leader and Bihar government minister Ashok Chaudhary also called this decision an effort towards the upliftment of minorities. He said that apart from the Waqf Board, madrassas will also be built on government lands. Work is being done for the upliftment of minorities. Calling it a good decision, Ashok Choudhary said that it will benefit the minorities in terms of their education.

RJD said- JDU is not going to survive

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Ejaz Ahmed said on the announcement of opening of new madrasas that what Lalan Singh had said in the Parliament on the Waqf Bill, what kind of language it was. We all had heard his speech against Waqf. He claimed that after that there is restlessness in JDU. Ejaz Ahmed termed it as an attempt to throw dust in the eyes and said that JDU is not going to survive now.

While announcing the construction of 21 new madrassas on Waqf lands, Jama Khan said that people doing politics of minority society only do vote bank politics. He said that every society has developed under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. Fresh teachers will be appointed in new madrassas.

It is noteworthy that this announcement of Nitish government has come just a few days after the Waqf Bill was presented in the Parliament. The Waqf bill was sent to JPC amid opposition from opposition parties. JPC has been formed under the leadership of Jagdambika Pal. JDU had openly supported this bill in Parliament.
