BJP Gears Up for High-Voltage Campaign in Jammu and Kashmir

Following the release of its manifesto and the formal launch of its election campaign by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Jammu, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is finalizing the itinerary of its top star campaigner – Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A senior party leader, speaking anonymously, stated that the final clearance to the Prime Minister’s visit itinerary for electioneering in Jammu and Kashmir is awaited by the party. The leader mentioned that as per an earlier schedule, the Prime Minister was likely to visit in the second week of September (September 14 or 15) to initiate the party campaign from Chenab Valley, which goes to polls in the first phase on September 18.

The party leader emphasized that not just the Prime Minister, but other top star campaigners like the Home Minister and Defence Minister will also visit for electioneering in every phase of the elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who were recently in Jammu and Ramban districts for an election visit, will come again for campaigning.

The party leader assured that BJP will go full throttle in the Jammu region while also visiting Kashmir for campaigning. The exact schedule will be shared soon.

On Monday, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur will be in Jammu to accompany party candidates Sham Lal Sharma and Arvind Gupta, who will file their nominations.
