A case of shameful incident with a girl has come to light in a birthday party in Thane district of Maharashtra. It is alleged that a 22-year-old girl was raped after being given intoxicants. Three people including a girl have been arrested in this case. Police is investigating the matter.
A Thane police official told PTI that the incident took place on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. It was carried out in an apartment located in Shirgaon area of Badlapur. Based on the complaint of the victim, the police have arrested the accused Santosh Shivram Rupavate (40), Shivam Sanjay Raje (23) and Aliska alias Bhumika Ravindra Meshram (20).
The police officer said that Aliska had invited the victim to her house for her birthday party and two other people were already present there. After the party, both of them started drinking alcohol in the bedroom. When the victim got up to leave, she complained of uneasiness. Due to this, Aliska gave her lemonade to drink.
According to the police officer, some intoxicating drug was allegedly mixed in the lemonade and after drinking it, the victim started feeling dizzy and fell unconscious. Then one of the accused took the victim to the bathroom and raped her and then the girl fell unconscious.
Now in this case, the police have registered a case against the accused under section 64 (rape) and 123 (causing hurt by means of poison etc. with intent to commit an offence) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) and other relevant provisions. The police is investigating further.
