Bihar: Debt-ridden woman commits suicide, angry people create ruckus

A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Samastipur in Bihar, where a debt-ridden woman committed suicide by consuming poison. As soon as the police got information about the incident, they reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it for post-mortem and started investigating the case. Angry people created a ruckus and demanded strict action against the accused.

Let us tell you, a loan of Rs. 5 lakh was taken from three self-help groups in the name of the deceased woman. A woman named Gayatri Devi had lured the deceased Sharmila Devi by saying that she will keep the loan amount herself and will also deposit the installment. In return, she was asked to pay 10 percent interest.

The woman committed suicide by consuming poison

It is being told that on Tuesday, Gayatri Devi and Pooja Devi came to Sharmila’s house and insulted her for not being able to repay the loan. After which Sharmila committed suicide by eating poison. Police say that the case is being investigated in detail.

Police registered a case and started investigation

Gayatri had taken a loan a year ago and stopped paying the installments for 2 months. The police have arrested the accused woman and one of her accomplices and sent them to jail. Apart from this, an FIR has been registered against 25 named and 100 unknown people for assaulting the police. A person named Raja Sahni has been arrested and sent to jail.
