In an interview with Free Press Magazine, Hema revealed that despite her tenure in Bigg Boss, financial stability remained a distant dream. Contrary to the idea that reality shows can enhance careers, Hema’s involvement did not lead to the expected financial breakthrough. She is the sole breadwinner for her children, managing everything from education to household expenses, and her monthly income barely reaches Rs 50,000-60,000.

Hema said her estranged husband Gaurav Saxena only pays Rs 35,000 per month as rent and has no additional financial support, making it difficult for her to make ends meet. Although she tried to make ends meet through her social media work, the income was still not enough. She recalled the challenges she faced before joining Bigg Boss, where she left her ATM card and valuables with her children, fearing that emergencies might happen in her absence.

Financial difficulties not only affected her life off-screen; This also affected her confidence in the big boss’s family. Hema admits that she feels uncomfortable and self-conscious when she sees other contestants wearing trendy outfits while her own wardrobe is limited. With only three pajamas and no extra money to buy new clothes, she often borrowed them from her partner Sarah to avoid repeating outfits, which affected her morale.

Since her eviction, Hema and Gaurav have publicly blamed each other over their responsibilities towards the family. She alleged that Gaurav was trying to cash in on her newfound popularity and that he had recently cut off her monthly stipend of Rs 35,000, further exacerbating her financial woes.
