Meanwhile, the state’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given a major hint about the election date. “The assembly elections in the state are expected to be held in the second week of November. Prior to this, the seat allocation to the ruling party’s ally (Mahayoti) will be finalized in the next eight to ten days,” Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said.

CM Shinde said at CM House ‘Varsha’ in Mumbai that it would be better to hold elections for the 288-member state assembly in two phases. He further said, “The grand alliance government of Shiv Sena, BJP and NCP led by Ajit Pawar is focusing on development and welfare measures. In return, we are getting good response from the people.

“Women’s support for government”

“Merit and good hit-rate will be the criteria for allocating seats among the coalition partners,” the Chief Minister said. “Women’s support for the government is visible. Our government is a government of the common man. We have struck a balance between development and welfare schemes.”

“150,000 young people received appointment letters”

CM Shinde said, “Under the skill training scheme, appointment letters have been issued to 1.5 lakh youths who will be given stipends ranging from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000.” The target is to involve one million youths in the scheme.

The last election was held in October 2019

Elections are coming up to elect all 288 members of the Maharashtra state assembly. The last assembly elections were held in October 2019. The BJP-led NDA alliance got a clear majority to form the government, but due to internal discord, Shiv Sena withdrew from the alliance (NDA) and formed a new alliance with the nationalist Congress Party and the Indian National Congress, called MVA and formed the state government with Uddhav Thackeray as the chief minister.

Shinde formed a government with 40 MLAs

After the 2022 Maharashtra political crisis, Eknath Shinde formed the government with the BJP and 40 MLAs. After that, Eknath Shinde became the new Chief Minister. After the 2023 Maharashtra political crisis, the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party also joined the government.
