Last month, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and now the Women’s Premier League (i.e. WPL 2025) auction is about to take place. The WPL 2025 auction will be held on December 15 in Bengaluru. Ahead of the auction, WPL side Gujarat Lions made major changes to their coaching staff.
Ahead of the WPL auction, Adani Sports Line-owned Gujarat Giants have added two experienced coaches to their coaching staff. The move is aimed at building a strong squad for next season. The Gujarat Giants have appointed Praveen Tambay as their new bowling coach, while Daniel Marsh has been appointed as their batting coach. Michael Klinger, who joined the team last season, will continue as head coach. Praveen Tambe, known for his brilliant debut in the IPL at the age of 41, also has extensive coaching experience. He has previously worked with IPL teams like Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Supergiants.
Praveen Tambe expresses happiness
On joining Gujarat, Tambay said joining the Gujarat Giants as bowling coach is an exciting new chapter in my cricket journey. He looks forward to working with this talented group of players, honing their skills and helping them improve.
The goal is to create a strong batting unit
Daniel Marsh served as the head coach of the Tasmanian men’s cricket team from 2013 to 2017 and was appointed assistant coach of the Australian women’s cricket team in 2022. Marsh, who is known for his vast coaching experience, said he is delighted to join the Gujarat Giants. He is keen to develop a fearless approach to our batting with the aim of making his team one of the strongest batting units in the WPL.
