Two-time Chief Minister of Haryana and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday filed his nomination papers for the Assembly elections 2024. During this, he submitted an affidavit giving details of his assets, according to which his total net worth is more than Rs 26 crore, whereas during the 2019 elections, his assets were stated to be Rs 15.66 crore. According to the election affidavit, Hooda and his wife also have gold-silver jewellery worth more than Rs 4 crore.

Bhupinder Hooda’s net worth increased so much in 5 years
Along with filing the nomination, Bhupinder Singh Hooda also disclosed his assets while filing an affidavit with the Election Commission and according to this affidavit, 77-year-old Hooda and his wife have total assets worth Rs 26.48 crore. In this, the former Haryana CM has movable assets worth Rs 3.46 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 7.29 crore, while in terms of net worth, his wife Asha Hooda is richer, who has movable assets worth Rs 3.74 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 11.99 crore.
Out of the total assets, Hooda has Rs 4.52 lakh in cash, while his wife has Rs 3.70 lakh in cash. While more than Rs 1 crore is deposited in different bank accounts.
Earlier in the year 2019, he had given an affidavit to the Election Commission and declared his assets to be Rs 15,52,61,986. According to this, in these five years, his net worth has increased by more than Rs 10 crore.

The price of gold and silver is also in crores
According to the affidavit filed with the Election Commission, Bhupinder Hooda and his wife Asha Hooda have jewellery worth crores. Bhupinder Hooda has 1850 grams of gold and 25 kg of silver. While his wife has 3300 grams of gold jewellery and 10 kg of silver. The value of this gold and silver jewellery is around Rs 4 crore. Apart from this, Hooda also has a revolver (worth Rs 50 thousand), a rifle gun (worth Rs 50 thousand) and a pistol (worth Rs 50,000) in his name.
Lakhs of rupees are deposited in PPF account
The details of the former Haryana CM’s property also include information about his investments. According to this, he has 10 FDs, whose value is in lakhs. Apart from this, he has also deposited a huge amount in the PPF account with his wife. Bhupinder Singh Hooda has Rs 10.60 lakh deposited in his PPF account, while the amount deposited in his wife’s PPF account is Rs 17.81 lakh.
Houses and land worth crores
A major part of Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s total net worth is also his immovable property. According to the affidavit, he has agricultural land worth more than Rs 3 crore in Badripur, Nandpur and Rohtak. He also has three commercial buildings in Rohtak, whose value is around Rs 1.23 crore. Talking about residential properties, he and his wife have two houses each in Delhi, Rohtak and Gurugram. Bhupinder Singh Hooda has houses worth Rs 1 crore each in Delhi and Rohtak. His wife has houses in Delhi’s East of Kailash and Gurugram, each of which is worth around Rs 2 crore.
It is worth noting that elections are going to be held on a total of 90 seats in Haryana. Voting will be held here in a single phase on October 5 and the counting of votes will take place on October 8. Before this, the nomination process has started, which is going on till September 12.
