Recently, the Madhya Pradesh High Court granted bail on special conditions to the accused who had raised pro-Pakistan slogans. The court in its order said that till the end of the trial, the accused must come to the Bhopal police station twice a month, salute the national flag and raise slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai”. He must do this on the first and fourth Tuesday of the month. In this context, today he reached Misro police station in Bhopal and saluted the tricolor and raised slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.
“I was drunk, making scrolls and talking at the same time”
Speaking to Aji Tucker after the salute, Faisal said he said these while drunk. He realizes his mistake and won’t make it again.
Let us tell you that Faisal alias Faizan, who lives in Mandideep near Bhopal, raised the slogans of Sindabad in Pakistan and Murdabad in India on May 17, 2024 . When the video went viral, police initiated action against the accused at the police station under Section 153B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Faisal raised pro-Pakistan slogans
The prosecutor said that the defendant’s pro-Pakistani slogans amounted to inciting hostility between different groups. His behavior was detrimental to harmony and national unity and therefore should not be granted bail. Defense counsel then stated that the applicant had been falsely implicated. He is a citizen of this country. However, the applicant’s counsel objectively stated that in a video, the applicant can be seen raising slogans praising Pakistan and condemning India.
The court has imposed such punishment
On the other hand, the state government counsel opposed the bail and said the applicant was a habitual offender and 14 criminal cases were registered against him. Then considering all the arguments, Justice DK Paliwal in his order said that the accused can get bail by imposing certain conditions so that he develops a sense of responsibility and pride towards the country where he was born and lives.
In the verdict, he was granted bail on a Rs 50,000 bail and sentenced to visit the Bhopal police station twice a month, salute the national flag 21 times and raise slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.
