West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday offered help to the widow and four-year-old daughter of the state’s migrant laborer Sabir Malik, who was killed in Haryana. According to the agency, an official said that CM Mamata Banerjee has given a government job to the laborer’s widow as part of the compensation package.

The official said the widow has been handed over the appointment letter and has been posted as an attendant at Basanti BLRO office. The labourer’s wife and her daughter visited the state secretariat Nabanna during the day and met the chief minister.

CM took the responsibility of paying for the child’s education

According to the information, Mamta Banerjee has assured that her government will take responsibility for the education of the child.

Sabir Malik was murdered on suspicion of beef

24-year-old Malik was beaten to death by five people in Charkhi Dadri district on August 28. The attackers had accused him of eating beef. There was widespread outrage after Malik’s lynching. Due to this, there were discussions on the issues of communal violence and discrimination. Now Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has given a job to the deceased’s wife.

‘The accused had called Sabir on some pretext’

After the murder incident, it was revealed that the accused members of the Gau Raksha Dal had beaten the laborer badly on suspicion of eating beef. The accused Abhishek, Mohit, Ravinder, Kamaljit and Sahil had called the victim Sabir Malik to a shop on the pretext of selling empty plastic bottles and later beat him badly.
