The country is demanding silver for golden girl Vinesh Phogat. No concession, but silver of rights. Because till the time Vinesh Phogat reached the final, her weight remained as per the rules. An appeal has also been made in the Court of Arbitration for Sports for this silver medal. Now the wait is for the decision.

In Haryana, the Chief Minister has said that the government will give every honor given to the silver medal winner to Vinesh Phogat. Whereas former CM and Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda has demanded that Vinesh Phogat should be given the same honor as a gold medal winner. Hooda even claims that if he had majority in the Assembly, he would have made Vinesh a Rajya Sabha member. On this, BJP said that Hooda should not do vote politics.

Bhupendra Hooda said – We would have sent him to Rajya Sabha!

The pain that Vinesh Phogat endured of not being able to play in the finals due to her weight being more than 100 grams, has now heated up politics in Haryana. BJP says that Vinesh will be given the same honor as a silver medal winner i.e. an honor of Rs 4 crore.

Whereas Bhupendra Singh Hooda demands that the gold medal winner should be given an honorarium of Rs 6 crore as per the rules of Haryana Government. But after this, Bhupendra Singh Hooda goes a step further and says that if he had majority in the Assembly, he would have sent Vinesh to Rajya Sabha.

As soon as this statement came to light, Vinesh’s uncle Mahavir Phogat started reminding the family that when Geeta and Babita Phogat won medals during the Commonwealth Games in 2010, the government was of Bhupendra Hooda. But what had he done?

Political equation of Jat vote in Haryana

The reason for political wrestling being played on Vinesh by both sides is the elections. There are assembly elections in Haryana this year. Although a player belongs to the country, not to caste and religion, but Vinesh Phogat belongs to the Jat community whose share in Haryana is up to 25 percent. That means one out of every four votes in Haryana is from the Jat community. Resentment of Jat votes was also the reason behind BJP’s loss of five seats in Haryana in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

BJP got 27 percent Jat votes in the Lok Sabha elections. There was a loss of 23 percent. Congress got 64 percent Jat votes, gained 31 percent. In Haryana, which has 90 assembly seats, Jat vote is effective in 36 seats. With the aim of creating the same effect, shooting for political votes has started being played from both sides by placing a gun on Vinesh Phogat’s shoulder.
