On the second day of play, when Kagiso Rabada was batting, Rabada tried to defend forward on the fourth ball of the 90th over of the African innings and was hit by a ball bowled by Lahiru Kumara. He was very close to the handle of the bat and as he was hit it immediately split into two parts. Rabada tried to defend the ball with one hand, first removing his other hand from the bat. Rabada scored a total of 23 runs with the bat while facing 40 balls in the first innings.
Sri Lanka’s batting was excellent.
After defeating South Africa by 358 runs in the first innings, Sri Lanka ended the second day scoring 242 runs for the loss of three wickets in the first innings, including Angelo Mathews Scored 40 points, Carmendu Mendez scored 40 points to achieve an undefeated record of 30 points. Apart from this, Pathum Nissanka scored an innings of 89 runs and Dinesh Chandimal also scored an innings of 44 runs.
