The full statement of what has been revealed in Lallantop’s video is as follows, ‘There was an atmosphere of tension at the main gate of RG Kar Medical College from around 11 pm on the night of 14th August. A big demonstration was planned by leftist organizations at midnight on 15th August. Before this, a march was taking place which was continuing from Kolkata Railway Station to Shyam Bazaar Road.
There was a tense atmosphere from the beginning of the demonstration
This demonstration was to be held in protest against the rape and murder that took place on the night of 8-9 August. Resident doctors and junior doctors of the medical college were already protesting against this incident and demanding justice. At this protest site, which was inside the gate of the Medical College, there was a serious tense atmosphere since the beginning of the protest. The protesters were also blaming the police and demanding that security should be fixed for them.
Tore down the barricades by kicking them.
At around 11:30 pm, Lallantop reporter RG Kar reached the Medical College. Protestors were gathered outside the gate, which included men, women and eunuchs. The police had completely closed the gate of the medical college with barricades. Two rows of policemen were deployed to provide security to the barricades. The situation was extremely tense, and a group of protesters began to tear down the barricade by kicking and pushing it. Within some time, a crowd came from one side and created an infiltration-like situation among those protesters. This crowd included youth ranging from 17 years to 25 years. This was a crowd of complete strangers.
The first two attempts that these youth made to uproot the barricades were unsuccessful, but in the third attempt they were successful in bringing down the barricades. However, a part of the protesters were asking the protesters not to try to enter inside.
When the barricades broke, the police also ran away to save their lives.

Unknown mob first vandalized the protest site
As soon as the crowd entered the gate, the first thing they targeted was the protest site. This temporary structure made of bamboo and tarpaulin was demolished and then demolished. Chairs were broken. Bamboo structures were uprooted and thrown away. After this the crowd turned towards the emergency ward. Here, the police post was completely demolished.
Medical equipment also broken, admission counter destroyed
Inside the ward, glass windows were broken, medical equipment was vandalized, and sterilized medical supplies were thrown away. The nurse station located near the entrance was also not spared. They also damaged the medical officer’s room and the admission counter inside the hospital. The sign boards outside the hospital were also uprooted. There has been massive vandalism in the admission counter. The medical officer room has also been destroyed. Many channel gates have been broken. Beds, lights and fans of the emergency room have also been broken. Important machines have also been damaged. The nurse station is also in a bad condition.
The entire hospital is in very bad condition. A water pipe has burst due to vandalism, due to which the hospital is flooding.
There is panic among doctors and nurses
After this incident, there is an atmosphere of great panic among the doctors and nurses of RG Kar Medical College. Doctors were forced to hide in their wards and hostels. Some doctors even went and hid in the bathroom. During this time, different rumors kept spreading inside and outside the hospital, making the situation even more frightening. This violence continued for about 20 minutes. During this, the police force released tear gas shells, fired rubber bullets and lathi charge to control the crowd. Media personnel also had to flee the spot for their safety. After this the police gradually controlled the situation.
Who is behind this incident, BJP-TMC, Congress or Left?
Questions are also being raised on who was behind this entire incident. Was this violence sponsored by any political party? Was BJP, TMC, Left or Congress behind this? No concrete evidence has been found in this regard yet. People are sharing information on social media as per their own convenience, but there is no authentic basis for it. After the incident, the CBI team visited RG Kar Medical College and inspected the crime scene.
