The situation of anarchy continues in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and left the country. Hindus are being targeted and temples are being vandalized. In protest against this, thousands of Hindus took to the streets of Dhaka on Sunday with posters in their hands and raised the demand for security.

Amidst all this, Bangladesh Home Affairs Advisor Brigadier General (retired) M Sakhawat Hossain has apologized to the minority Hindu community for failing to provide security.

He said, ‘We have directed that it is the ultimate duty of the majority community to protect our minority brothers. If they do not do so and instead remain busy offering namaz in the mosque, they will have to answer why they failed to provide security.

Sakhawat Hussain said, ‘It is also a part of our religion that we should protect our minorities. I apologize to my minority brothers. We are passing through a period of anarchy. The police themselves are not in a good condition, so I urge the society at large, protect them, they are our brothers and we all have grown up together.
