He is a member of the Al Qaeda affiliate “Ansarullah Bangla”. Now, the terrorist’s links to West Bengal have come to light.

Terrorists’ names are on the electoral list

Terrorist Mohammad Sabu Sheikh has links with Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The name of activist Shabu Shaikh is on the electoral list of Murshidabad’s Harihappara assembly constituency. Shab Sheikh, a resident of Bangladesh, has lived in Kedartala village in Khidirpur district for about 10 years. The captured militant had been living in his uncle’s house for a long time.

Intelligence agents learned during interrogation that he came to India illegally from Bangladesh 10 years ago without any documents and established a base here. He made fake Adhakar and voter cards.

Ansarullah linked with Bangladesh team

During interrogation, he said that for a while he ran a burqa shop in an open space at the Noida police station, but when that didn’t work, he went to work in Kerala. Recently, Assam police and STF arrested Shab Shaikh there.

Police officials said activist Shab Shaikh was very close to Mohammad Farhan Israk Jasimuddin of banned terror outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team and was given the mandate to create the sleeper cell responsibility. The aim was to target persons associated with RSS and Hindutva organisations, but the Kerala and Assam police launched Operation Pragat which foiled the plans of these terrorists. A total of eight terrorists were arrested. Mohammad Shabu maintained his base in Calcutta and Murshidabad.

Issues raised by arrest of Kashmiri terrorists

Intelligence police arrested two terrorists after interrogating Mohammad Sabb Sheikh. Abbas and Minalul were arrested from Murshidabad. A gun was found in Murshidabad and police from Murshidabad Ranitala police station arrested two people. These people have provided weapons to terrorists.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested a militant from Canning in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas. The home of suspected terrorist Javed Munshi is located in Changpura, Srinagar. The Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested the terrorist from Canning in South 24 Parganas on Saturday night.

Police claimed that the arrested accused were members of the Mujahideen movement. Police raided a house called Gulshal House in Canning Hospital Mod area on Saturday night and arrested the accused. Police said he might have fled to Bangladesh from here. The police caught him and now the Jammu and Kashmir police are taking him to Kashmir for transit remand.
