Mohammad Yunus stressed on close economic cooperation between China and Bangladesh. On Sunday, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen met Yunus during which he made a proposal to China regarding solar plant factories.

Amid the student movement turning violent and violence spreading in the country, Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister of Bangladesh and fled to India on 4 August. China should increase the purchase of Bangladeshi goods

A statement issued by Yunus’ office after his meeting with the Chinese ambassador said Chinese investors should shift some of their plants to Bangladesh.

He said, ‘China has emerged as one of the largest manufacturers of solar panels but the country is facing restrictions in the export market. Chinese manufacturers can shift solar panel factories to Bangladesh, which will help Bangladesh diversify exports and transform into a green economy.’
