Congress leaders Ramesh Chennithala and Nana Patole
As the date for withdrawal of nominations ends in Maharashtra, the Congress is gaming a number of candidates. It is said that under pressure from Uddhav, the party played pranks on these candidates. In fact, Congress had submitted nominations for more than 110 seats earlier.
When Shiv Sena (Uddhav) objected, the party withdrew the logo of its own candidates and hence the nomination of these candidates was rejected.
Which congressional candidates are being outed?
The first name is Congress candidate K Ghulam Gaus and Hemlata Ninad Patil from Nashik Central. Both candidates had submitted their nominations for the Congress symbol to Nashik Central, but their nominations were canceled as AB forms were not received.
Uddhav’s candidate Gite Vasant Nirvuti is contesting from here. The BJP has offered a ticket to Devyani Subhash Farande to contest against him.
There is also a contest against Rajendra Mulak, the candidate for Ramtek seat. Mulak had submitted his nomination for a congressional symbol, but he did not receive Form B, so his nomination has been cancelled. However, Mulak also filed a form as an independent, which would allow him to run for the seat as an independent.
Vishal Barbete of Shiv Sena (Uddhav) is joining the fight from here. His direct opponent is Ashish Jaiswal of Shinde Sena. Congress has staked its claim on the Ramtek seat from the beginning.
Congress also withdrew its candidate from Bandra East. The nomination of Congress MP Arjun Rajpati Singh has been withdrawn from here. It is said that the party did not even provide B form to Arjun Singh. Varun Sardesai is vying for the symbol of Shiva Sena (Uddhav) in Bandra East.
Chennithala once said – there will be no friendly fights
After Shiv Sena (Uddhav) objection, Ramesh Chennithala said there is no room for friendly fight in Maha Vikas Aghadi. We will withdraw our names from those seats where we have no claim. So far, Congress has formally selected candidates for 102 seats.
Here, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav) also issued symbols to candidates for over 90 seats. Sharad Pawar’s party has fielded candidates in 88 seats. Samajwadi Party has 2 seats.
Uddhav Thackeray’s party objects
After the nomination was filed, Sanjay Raut was contesting on behalf of Uddhav Thackeray. Rattle has said that an agreement has been reached on 90% of the seats, but failed to reach an agreement on 10% of the seats. Fielding candidates on consensus seats is against the dharma of the alliance.
Talking about the Sangli model, Raut said it will only hurt Maha Vikas Aghadi. In fact, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav) won the Sangli seat in the Lok Sabha elections, but the Congress rebels left the seat, so the Shiv Sena (Uddhav) came to third place.
Polling for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra is scheduled to take place on November 20. This time Congress is in alliance with NCP (Sharad), Shiv Sena (Uddhav) and SP.
