Balaich bulldozing operation banned tomorrow, Supreme Court orders Yogi govt

Supreme Court order on bulldozing operation

The Supreme Court has postponed till tomorrow, Wednesday, the action to bulldoze the property of the violent accused in Balaichi. While hearing the case today (Tuesday), the court told the Uttar Pradesh government that we will hear the case tomorrow. Until then, no bulldozing action should be taken.

The order to take bulldozing action on the defendant’s property was challenged in the Supreme Court. The petitioner’s lawyer CU Singh said that an incident took place in Baraich on October 13. There were deaths. This was an application from three people who received demolition notices and were given three days to respond.

What did the court say?

Advocate CU Singh said that the father and brother of applicant No. 1 have surrendered. According to reports, the notice was issued on October 17, but was not posted until the evening of the 18th. We requested a hearing on Sunday but it did not take place. Some have filed cases in the High Court. Judge Gawai said, under what circumstances does it constitute an illegal act?

ASG KM Nataraj said the high court was aware of the matter. Justice Gawai said if they (UP officials) want to take the risk of violating our orders, then that is their choice. Justice Vishwanathan said the High Court had given 15 days’ time. There is a limit. But no security was provided, said petitioner’s lawyer Singh.

Justice Gawai said if your construction is on the road, then how can we give orders. “Your honor, please protect us,” lawyer Singh said. Justice Gawai asked the ASG to postpone the action until tomorrow.
