Bahraich: 4 girls died due to drowning in a pond, three friends also lost their lives while trying to save one of them

Four girls died after drowning in a pond in Bahraich, UP. The girls had gone to pluck fruits from the pond. During this time, they went into deep water and started drowning. By the time they were taken out, it was too late. As soon as the information was received, there was mourning in the family of the deceased girls.

According to the information, at around 10 am today in Sattijore village under Nawabganj police station area of ​​the district, Kaleen Khan’s daughter Mehak (14) went to pluck bael fruit from the pond. Then she started drowning. To save her, her other friends Samia (10), Saiba (10) and Sarikul Khatun (13) who were nearby also went inside the pond. But none of them could come out of the deep pond.

All the four girls died after drowning in the pond. Meanwhile, another girl standing on the spot saw them drowning in the pond and shouted. On which the village head and other villagers took out one girl with great difficulty and took her to the local hospital. But she could not be saved, she died in the hospital. All the four dead girls were from different houses.

There was chaos in the village after the incident. On receiving the information, SDM Ashwani Pandey of Nanpara and Nawabganj police station in-charge Sheela Yadav reached the spot. At present, the police has taken all the four bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem and has started investigation.

Villagers said that three girls died on the spot after drowning in the pond, while one girl was brought to the hospital with the help of the village head and others but she also died on reaching the hospital.
