People are angry over the sexual assault case of two girls in Thane’s Badlapur. At the same time, politics has also intensified in this case. Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi has called for Maharashtra Bandh on 24 August. The opposition is continuously targeting the Mahayuti government of Maharashtra. The opposition alleges that the school in Badlapur where two girls were sexually assaulted was being run by trustees. These trustees were associated with BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party). Former Chief Minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray also attacked and said that he came to know that the school was being run by trustees who were associated with BJP and the accused, whichever party he belongs to, should get severe punishment.

Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra and Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar claimed that the special public prosecutors being appointed for the case have connections with the BJP and had also contested elections. Who will be responsible if the case is suppressed. Wadettiwar was talking about Ujjwal Nikam here and he has objected to the appointment of Ujjwal Nikam as special public prosecutor for the case.

Another leader Ajay Munde claimed that Tushar Apte, secretary in the school committee, is a BJP functionary. A banner with a photo of Tushar Apte is viral on social media, which says that he is the president of the Jan Kalyan Samiti (public welfare) of Ambarnath district. Another viral post alleges that the police were protecting Apte, so the case was not registered for 12 hours. Maharashtra Congress shared a post on social media saying that this school is associated with the BJP, the banner read that people do not want alms, but security.

When Aaj Tak’s team investigated these claims and searched the school’s website, it was revealed that the names of the office bearers and trustees were given. In this, Uday Kotwal is the president, Tushar Apte is the secretary of the trust running the school. Aaj Tak searched Tushar Apte’s Facebook page and found a banner posted by Tushar Apte, in which it can be clearly seen that he is the president of the Jan Kalyan Samiti of Ambarnath BJP. Another banner shows that his brother Chetan Apte is the city vice-president of Badlapur city, another banner was found in which Tushar Apte is congratulating Badlapur MLA Kisan Kathore and in another banner Uday Kotwal is also seen.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Chitra Wagh, who visited the Badalpur police station on Wednesday, said that allegations are being made that the school belongs to BJP members, but the truth is that the school trust has members from all parties and the school is there since the year 1965 and the trust members change every five years.
