Badaun: Bullies attacked a family in the middle of the road, smashed the car with sticks, women and children kept screaming

A video of hooliganism in the middle of the road in UP’s Badaun district is going viral, in which hooligans wreaked havoc on a family traveling in a car. After an argument over moving the car, a dozen hooligans attacked the people in the car. They broke the glass of the car with sticks. During this, the children sitting in the car kept crying and screaming. The hooligans even pulled out a person from the car and beat him up. Women were mistreated.

It is alleged that a complaint was given to the police in the matter, but the case was not registered for 3 days. When the video went viral on social media, the police registered an FIR. Now the police is saying that they will soon arrest the unknown accused.

Actually, the whole case is of Civil Lines police station area. Alok Upadhyay, a resident of Chitranshnagar in the city, is a drug businessman. He was returning from Bisauli with his family by car on 19 August. His wife Ritu Sharma, three children, brother-in-law Abhishek Sharma, his wife Richa and their children were also with him.

Alok told that there was a huge traffic jam in Bisauli. Meanwhile, a car was parked on the road, when he was asked to move it, the driver started quarreling. There was a heated altercation between the two parties. After this, Alok left from there with his car. But after some time, a person in another car came chasing him and started creating a ruckus on the highway while overtaking the car.

He called 25-30 of his companions in Silhari village of Civil Lines police station area. Then they started hitting Alok’s car with sticks. They started breaking the glass panes of the car. Alok drove the car and reached Bhagwatipur village located some distance away. But the attackers followed him in their vehicles and reached there as well. Here Alok asked for help from the villagers, saying that his family was with him, but the attackers attacked him.

With great difficulty the police rescued Alok and Abhishek and brought them to Nawada police station. People from the attacking party also came to Nawada police station and started pressuring for a decision. Abhishek told that even in the presence of police his brother-in-law Alok Upadhyay was not able to write the complaint independently. At the police station we came to know that the name of the attacking person is Dr. Vaibhav Rathod who is posted in Bareilly district. Vaibhav also gave a complaint to the police with the intention of pressurizing and the police started trying to make a compromise.

While Alok and his family wanted action. But even after this incident, the police kept trying for a compromise instead of taking action. When the video of the fight started going viral on social media on Thursday, the police hurriedly registered a case against unknown persons on the basis of the complaint of August 19.

In this case, Nagar Area Officer Alok Mishra said that a video of vandalism and assault on a car was going viral on social media. When information was gathered about the video, it was found that the incident took place on August 19. There was an argument between two parties over overtaking a car and then one party called its friends and vandalised the car of the other party and assaulted them. A case has been registered in this incident and the accused are being identified.
