The police officer said the incident of firing on former state minister Baba Siddiqui took place between 9 pm and 9.30 pm on Saturday when he was coming out of late Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office. The incident took place within the limits of Nirmal Nagar police station. Nirmal Nagar police station has registered a case in connection with the incident. The investigation into the case was immediately transferred to the criminal court. API Rajendra Dabhade of Nirmal Nagar police station and his team rushed to the spot immediately after the incident and nabbed the two accused, police said.
Police arrest two defendants

Immediately after the incident, the police officer at the scene, API Rajendra Dabhade, and his staff showed great courage and successfully arrested the two defendants on the spot. API Dabhade and his team risked their lives and did a commendable job in immediately arresting the two accused despite it being known that they might be armed.

He said one of the accused had fled the scene. The crime branch is further investigating his and other accused’s role in the case. We are investigating all aspects of this crime. Two pistols and 28 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the possession of the accused. We have detained one defendant until the 21st. Police said they are investigating the role played by Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang in the murder.
“Baba Siddiqui does not have any security category”
