Following the huge success of this year’s Streets 2, filmmaker Dinesh Vijan plans to make his horror universe even bigger. Vision has announced a new project for his universe, and now he’s creating a vampire love story called “Thama.”
For some time now, there have been reports that Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna will be teaming up for a horror universe film. The film is said to be titled ‘Vampire of Vijayanagar’. But judging from the latest announcement, it is clear that the news is true, but the project name has been changed.
A bloody love story
The makers have announced a beautiful song ‘Thamaa’. The song, composed by Amitabh Bhattacharya, has beautiful lyrics and plays along with the title card of the film. In the middle of the song it reads: “This universe needs a love story…”. Then the song begins, accompanied by vampire screams, and the screen reads: “Unfortunately, this is a very bloody love story.”
The main cast of the film has also been revealed in the video and apart from Ayushmann and Rashmika, the names of Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are also present. The names of the rest of the supporting cast or any other details related to the film have yet to be revealed. “Thama” will be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, whose film “Munjya” was an unexpected hit this year.
The manufacturer has also scheduled a release date
With the announcement of “Thama”, the makers have also confirmed the release date. It was also announced in the video that Ayushmann and Rashmika’s film will be released on Diwali 2025. Even though many big Bollywood projects are planned for next year, Diwali remains empty. However, going by Diwali’s track record, soon another film may also be scheduled to compete with ‘Thamaa’ on a Diwali release date.
Now that vampires have arrived in the horror universe and horror-comedy stories like ‘Stree’, ‘Munjya’ and ‘Bhediya’ are creating a buzz, it’s going to get even more interesting. In this case, it will be interesting to see what other wonders will happen in this universe with so many terrifying elements.
