A big update has come out in the Audi hit and run case in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Police say that Sanket, son of Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who hit several vehicles with his luxury car, had not eaten beef at a bar in the city before the accident.
But the police said that he had consumed alcohol along with mutton and chicken there.

According to PTI, the police gave this information in the wake of allegations by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, in which he had alleged that beef was eaten at the bar on cue before the incident.

In fact, Sanket’s Audi car hit several vehicles in Ramdaspeth area of Nagpur in the early hours of Monday, injuring two people. After the accident, a case of negligent driving and other offences was registered on the complaint of Jitendra Sonkamble, whose vehicle was hit by the Audi car.

Police had said that Sanket was present in the car, but he was not driving the car at the time of the accident. Police arrested the driver Arjun Haware on Monday night, who was later released on bail from the local police station.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-2) Rahul Madne denied that beef was served to Bawankule and his friends at the bar. He said, “We have got the bill, which clearly shows that no beef was served to them.”

Another police officer said, “Sanket and his four friends had dinner at La Hori Bar in the city’s Dharampeth area, where they ate mutton roast, mutton curry, chicken tikka along with some vegetarian dishes like masala peanuts and cashew fry. They also ordered two bottles of liquor worth over Rs 12,000.”

It is noteworthy that this accident turned into a major controversy ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, in which the opposition accused the Mahayuti government, of which the BJP is a constituent, of trying to save the relatives of the senior politician by blaming the driver for the accident.
